Transferring Data Using FTP

This article will explain how you can install FTP service on both Windows and Linux servers and use FTP client(Filezilla) to transfer files to your server.

For Windows server

Please follow the step-by-step guide on how to set up an FTP Server on Windows Server with FileZilla.

For Linux server

1. Log in to your Linux VPS

To log in to the Linux server, please refer to How to connect to a Linux Server using XShell or PuTTy.

If the system is Ubuntu OS, please switch to root user with the command sudo -i.

2. Install ISPConfig

ISPConfig is an open source hosting control panel for Linux. It manages one or more web servers, mail servers, BIND DNS server, FTP servers, MySQL databases and virtual Servers with an easy to use web interface for administrators.

3. Use FTP service in ISPConfig
